Common questions
Do I need the internet at the venue?
No. The scoreboards work on their own. With Hajime Pro, the desk and the tatami iPads talk to each other over the venue Wi-Fi or a travel router, and none of it goes over the internet.
A tatami iPad won't connect to the desk
- Check both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Check the event PIN typed on the tatami iPad matches the desk.
- Make sure Hajime is allowed to use the local network: Settings, Privacy & Security, Local Network, then turn on Hajime.
- Some venue and guest networks block devices from seeing each other. A cheap travel router at the desk fixes this.
Bouts keep scoring while a tatami is disconnected. Results wait on the iPad ("N to send") and go to the desk when it reconnects.
How do I show the board on a TV?
Connect the iPad or Mac to the TV with a cable or screen mirroring. Use TV flipped on the start screen if the TV faces the other way from the table.
How do I keep a backup of my event?
Hajime Pro saves a backup file of the event automatically. You can also save the event file from the Event tab and copy it to another device or to your cloud storage.
What does Hajime cost?
The Hajime scoreboards are free. Hajime Pro is free for pilot clubs during the beta. Pricing will be on this site before the App Store release.
Can I suggest a feature?
Yes, please. Email us. Most of what is in Hajime came from clubs telling us what their tournaments need.
