Privacy policy
Your data stays on your devices
In short: Hajime has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your own devices. We never receive athlete information.
Who we are
Hajime and Hajime Pro ("Hajime", "we", "us") are made in Australia by an independent developer. You can contact us about privacy at support@gethajime.app. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Information we do not collect
The Hajime app does not send us, or anyone else, any personal information. It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, does not ask you to sign in, and does not link what you do in the app to you or your device.
Information you enter in the app
To run a tournament, an organiser may enter or import athletes' names, dates of birth, gender, club, grade, weight, entries and results. This information:
- is stored only on the devices running Hajime for that event;
- is shared only between your own devices on the venue's local network (the desk and its tatami devices), protected with the event PIN;
- is saved in backup and event files only where you choose to save them, for example on the device, in Files or in your own cloud storage;
- is shown on screens you control, such as the scoreboard, the venue TV and printed timetables and results.
We cannot see, access or recover this information. You can delete it at any time by deleting the event in the app, removing your saved files, or deleting the app.
Athletes and children
Many karate athletes are children. The organiser who enters athlete information is responsible for having permission to use it for the event and for deciding what is shown on public screens and printouts. Hajime only uses the information you enter to run the event. The app is designed for tournament organisers and officials, not for children to use on their own.
Local network access
Hajime Pro asks for permission to use your local network so that the desk can find tatami devices and exchange bouts and results. This traffic stays on the venue network and is not sent to us.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and to improve Hajime, and we do not add you to mailing lists without asking.
Beta testing and Apple
If you test Hajime through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share crash reports, device details and feedback you choose to send with us, under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. Downloads and any purchases are handled by Apple; we never see your payment details. Apple may give us anonymous, combined statistics such as download numbers.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads, as described in Google's privacy policy.
Changes
If we change how Hajime handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change means Hajime starts collecting personal information, we will say so in the app before it happens.
